International Baby

Dear Jiddo and Nana --

Today I heard mama talking about taking a couple international trips this year. She said that I would need to get my very own passport. That means I'll have to get my picture taken. I'm so excited that I've been practicing my smile all morning. What do you think about this one?

Carefree

Dear Jiddo and Nana --

Thank you for the box of goodies you sent me. I'm sure you've heard that I hate changing my clothes -- getting shirts to fit over my head is a disaster. Mama says I have a "khoshor koolookh" -- I wonder where I get that from ;)

Anyway, those button-up outfits will come in handy. Mama is washing them as we speak.

Yesterday I slept the whole night. You would be proud!

Today is just another carefree day at home. Well, I care about milk. And a clean diaper. And burping and farting. That's about it.

A Day Out

Dear Jiddo and Nana --

Mama has been going a little crazy at home all day, and I'm itching for an adventure outside, so after work, baba took us out for a date.

Mama's coworker Serena came all the way from Washington, DC, for work -- she had a little down time so she came by and took us all out to lunch.

It was really cold outside so I had to bundle up. 

Baba was nervous to take me out because he thought I would cry in the middle of the store and he wouldn't know what to do. I proved him wrong. I'm a better baby than he thinks. 

When you come visit, we will have to go out again. Since I did a good job this time, I think baba will ease up and we can go on more adventures soon.

Tantig Karoun Part II

Dear Jiddo and Nana --

Today Tantig Karoun came back -- this time with a few more family members. I started off with a really cute outfit, but I think I got so excited by their visit that let's just say I couldn't control the diaper changes. Mama had to change my diaper and my clothes... twice in one hour!

Christine was nervous to hold me at first, but once she got the hang of it she didn't want to let go. I made sure to throw up on her shirt as a sign of my love. 

They even stocked the fridge with goodies for baba when he comes home!

Tantig Karoun Comes By

Dear Jiddo and Nana --

Yesterday, Tantig Karoun stopped by to help out mama. She brought her lunch, and took care of me while mama went out and ran some errands. She is the best. Since I really like her, I made sure to be on my best behavior. That way, she'll be back soon.

Skyping with you was fun last night. I think I am the most tech savvy one-week-old in the neighborhood! 

Today, mama has a lot of work to do, so I'm being nice and quiet for her. But once baba gets home, all bets are off!

Bath Time

Dear Jiddo and Nana --

Last night I took my first bath at home. I hated it, except for the part where mama and baba washed my hair.   As payback, I kept them up most of the night. I also gave them a dirty diaper right after they dressed me. Look who's smiling now...

Sleepy Time

Dear Jiddo and Nana,

Today was baba's first full day back to work so I made sure to behave well for mama.

Guess what? I smile in my sleep! I think this means there are angels around me.

Dear Jiddo and Nana

Hi everyone -- my name is Dalia and tomorrow I will be one week old. My Jiddo (grandfather) asked me to start this blog since he and Nana live far away and would like to watch me grow. I was sending them personal emails everyday, but this blog will definitely be easier. Of course, mama is actually writing this blog -- but I suspect she will do a good job tracking all of my emotions and milestones. 

Right now, my sole purpose is to look cute and keep mama and baba up all night. I'm doing a great job at both.
